Video / TikTok Intern: Sustainable Technology
We think tech should be designed to last. Join our Designed to Last campaign as an intern working remotely or in our Boston office 10-15 hours a week helping script, record, edit, and post TikToks and videos advocating for sustainable and longer-lasting technology. We just convinced Google to make laptops that last 10 years. Join our campaign and apply now.
We generate way too much waste, and companies use their power in the marketplace to push us to replace tech that still works. This disposable treadmill that has us replacing our phones, laptops, and appliances is driven by obsolescence. The amount of waste and global warming pollution the tech industry creates is not sustainable.
PIRG’s Designed to Last campaign is working to pass legislation to reduce waste and increase repair. Help us stand up to tech giants who would prefer we just throw out devices and not repair them, as we coordinate our affiliates in a number of target states to pass legislation.
