CASJ Marketing and Outreach Coordinator

The Jacksonville Urban League is a nonprofit, special-service, and advocacy organization that works to fulfill its mission of empowering communities and changing lives. Founded in 1947 as an affiliate of the National Urban League, the League has focused on a holistic approach to its goal of providing individuals and families the tools that can empower them toward a productive and successful life. Since its founding, more than six decades ago, the League has remained steadfast to service – including early education, housing education, and repairs, increasing employment opportunities, creating economic and social justice initiatives, and bolstering economic development in disadvantaged neighborhoods.

JUL's Center for Advocacy and Social Justice is seeking a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to assist the Director and Social Justice Advocacy Coordinator in developing the Social Justice Advocacy Program. The Internship Program has worked with over 70 interns and 50 universities nationwide providing meaningful internships for a variety of programs and topics. The Coordinator is required to work 15-20 hours per week for the duration of their internship.

The CASJ Internship Program operates year-round but is generally organized by semesters. The ideal applicant will be available until the end of December, and will have an opportunity to continue onto next year.

The responsibilities of this position include:
- Post all event advertising, provided by the interns, to each platform, in a time manner
-Brainstorm, create, and manage plans with the goal of achieving more social media engagement
-Engage with and respond to inquiries/comments on various platforms in a timely manner
-Build and maintain relationships with the community through email, social media, and other communication channels
-Analyze social media performance data and provide regular reports to stakeholders
-Develop and manage relationships with media outlets and influencers
-Meet with supervisors regularly to review upcoming events and posting schedule
-Research all platform “Terms of Service” to keep accounts in compliance
- Address and report complaints, insensitive content, copyright infringements, negative press,
account breaches, banned followers, etc.
