Climate Hope Summer Internship

OVERVIEW
This is a summer internship devoted to the success of a UCC advocacy campaign called Climate Hope Cards. The principal task of interns will be to collect signed petition postcards that advocate for strong EPA clean air protections so that public health and environmental justice are advanced while simultaneously addressing the climate crisis. Interns will be trained and coached in engaging the public on matters of vital importance, so that the public can participate in making meaningful change. Interns will have numeric goals to achieve and will be directed to places of engagement ranging from UCC church coffee hours to local farmers markets and spaces with high pedestrian traffic. In addition to regular Zoom calls with the Climate Hope Cards campaign leader, interns from across the country will form a cohort that meets monthly via Zoom to learn about environmental justice and faith-based organizing as well as the overall campaign effort. Beyond postcard collection, other opportunities to further environmental justice may arise as circumstances require.
