You will have a birds-eye view of how system change can be accomplished and will grow to understand the daily tasks and activities that will get us there.  
Interns learn about clean energy including how energy customers across all sectors, like Google, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, and Citi are shifting the energy system, while building professional skills across a wide range of topics within the clean energy space. 
 
Internship Overview/Summary:  
As an intern with CEBA’s Transaction Acceleration Group, you will drive work that helps activate a community of energy customers and partners with a shared goal of customer-driven carbon-free energy.  The Market Insights team provides CEBA members with increased access to energy market information that accelerates their ability to transact, provides unique market insights relevant to the impact of CEBA members, and enables internal CEBA teams to better execute programs and understand impact.  
 
Core Intern Responsibilities: 
  • Research, compile, and analyze data on large customer clean energy transactions 
  • Research utility green tariff programs through utility websites and filings with Public Utility Commissions to inform development of report series and associated tools and resources 
  • Contribute to the development of major reports and publications, including CEBA’s annual State of the Market 
  • Assist with exploration of how member-facing tools, such as data analysis dashboards, could be designed and implemented 
  • Assist the Market Insights team with logistical needs 
  • Other duties as assigned 
 
Required Qualifications 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. 
  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel 
 
Preferred or Additional Qualifications: 
  • Partial completion of graduate or advanced work toward undergraduate degree in data analysis, energy, environmental science/studies, sustainability, or related major preferred.  
  • Experience with creation and manipulation of data sets preferred 
  • Passion for learning and attention to detail  
  • Self-motivated and dynamic workstyle

Internship Structure: 
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
  • Benefits: Interns are not eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, paid time off, and paid sick time. Interns receive pro-rated holiday pay during CEBA’s organization-wide holidays. 
  • Educational credit: Eligibility for credit is determined by your educational institution. 
  • Schedule: 20 hours/week. Weekly schedule to be determined with your supervisor, capped at 20 hours.  
  • Orientation: All interns are required to virtually attend two welcome and orientation sessions on January 23rd. Exceptions may be considered after hire.  
  • Content: Interns work directly with CEBA’s programs and quickly become an important part of the team. You work with a Supervisor who guides daily work, and a Mentor who ensures a positive experience and continual growth. Interns will identify 2-3 key objectives which are intended to be met throughout the course of the internship, agreed upon with your Supervisor, to ensure a mutually beneficial internship experience.
