Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.


Compensation Minimum: $23.00

Compensation Maximum: $32.00


As an Accounting Intern you will assist in establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives. Under the direction of a senior level employee or manager you will work on projects that support the company’s financial reporting control program while collaborating with your direct team and cross functionally across the enterprise. You will have the opportunity to evaluate financial reporting risks and controls and complete tasks using both interpersonal and technical skills appropriate to the specific job assignment, while adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment.


Primary Accountabilities
  • Develop an understanding of American Family's business environments, corporate culture and structure to support work initiatives.
  • Coordinate requests for information from business process owners across the Enterprise.
  • Perform financial reporting control effectiveness testing.
  • Maintain work efficiency and respond positively to a changing environment.
  • Open to and supports new ideas, systems and procedures. Generate creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.
  • Adjust strategies or tactics in situations where the current approaches are ineffective

Education/Licenses/Designations
  • Must be in pursuit of a post-secondary degree or certificate during the semester of the internship.
  • Pursuing post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related major

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • Basic understanding Accounting and Financial Reporting concepts
  • Classes: Audit, Intermediate Accounting I and II
  • Written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to analyze, think critically, and ask questions and collaborate with other team members
