Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: Social Media & Marketing Internship

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since 1949, LLS has been on the forefront of blood cancer advances such as chemotherapies and stem cell transplantation leading the way to the targeted therapies and immunotherapies that are saving thousands of lives today.

Interns will help manage, but are not limited to the following tasks:
  1. Create and manage content for our North Carolina & Virginia social media channels while increasing awareness about the LLS mission and our local fundraising efforts.
  2. Maintain a social media content calendar and monitor postings to ensure brand message is constant from the terminology used to images posted.
  3. Curate and design canva images to utilize on both social media and external communications with donors, volunteers, and constituents
  4. Assist in weekly external messaging that spread awareness to the Greater Triangle community.

Qualifications, Hours and Compensation- Interns should be college students studying social work, sociology, human services, public health, communications, marketing, public relations, non-profit management or a related field. Successful candidates will have the following qualities and skills:
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal & Writing Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in Canva or other digital imaging software is a plus
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Confidentiality with all patient/donor/volunteer information


This position is remote. Students must own a laptop or computer and must be able to have majority of hours worked during business hours. Internships are not paid. Interns who seek college credit for their experience should work with LLS to meet criteria.
