Assistant NPI Buyer (Intern)

  • Position Summary:
  •    Assist NPI buyer(s) with sourcing and project management.
  • Position Responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluate and source products
  • Source parts for NPI programs according to Commodity Strategy, meeting cost, quality and timing guidelines
  • Manage procurement and ensure receipt of parts
  • Prepare purchase orders or other agreements as necessary and check them for accuracy and completeness before issuing
  • Review acknowledgements for agreement with purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies with the supplier to the best possible advantage for this organization.
  • Follow-up or expedite orders as necessary to meet schedules
  • Keep the NPI Purchasing Manager informed of all activities or problems and submit reports as requested by management
  • Answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed
  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders as well as Product Launch readiness
  • Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
  • Organizes and implements with direction from an NPI Buyer / Commodity Manager, strategies to accomplish small business and disadvantaged business sourcing programs consistent with company guidelines.

  • Position Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience:
  • 1-3 years in a Purchasing role.
  • Oracle experience is a plus
  • Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
