Within the Science Mission Directorate, the Planetary Science and Heliophysics Divisions support research and analysis programs and spacecraft missions to further our understanding of solar system processes.

Small teams of interns will work together to create five-minute videos that each summarize one NASA program element (i.e., spacecraft mission, space-related topic) with the goal of making the videos publicly available via YouTube and/or the NASA website. The interns will be trained and supported by NASA staff and paired with another intern to create the storyboard, conduct interviews with the Program Scientists of the NASA programs, and produce a high-quality video that will be published on-line. Students will gain insight into NASA programs via background readings, research, and interactions with NASA Program Officers; develop or hone technical, scientific, creative, and communication skills; and ultimately participate in a comprehensive experience producing informational high-quality public videos.

Looking for students of all backgrounds! Creativity, scientific curiosity, ability to work in a team, organizational and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Familiarity with digital platforms (e.g., Google, Moviemaker or other similar technologies) is desirable.
