Planning and Environmental Coordinator

The position serves as a Planning and Environmental Coordinator (P&EC) at the Field Office level.

The incumbent will serve as a member of the extended District Leadership team and be the primary source of guidance and review on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) planning documents. Planning documents and decisions the incumbent may be involved in reviewing are in the areas of grazing allotment management plans, realty actions, forestry, recreation plans, vegetation management, access and travel management, and wild horse gathers. The incumbent will also be responsible for recommending responses to appeals and litigation of decisions made for activity level plans and land use level plans. A primary function of this position may also include serving as an interdisciplinary team leader for complex planning efforts that require a high level of knowledge regarding policy and legal precedent. The incumbent would develop and lead NEPA training sessions for District resource specialists and managers. The incumbent would also serve as a primary point of contact between state office planners and regional office solicitors.
