Find your future with us. The P-8 Mission System Hardware IPT is looking for a Mid-level Systems Engineer to join the Mission Computing and Display Subsystem (MCDS) team in Tukwila WA.
There are exciting opportunities to work Mission Computing and Display Subsystem (MCDS) new development and upgrades that would be integrated onto the P-8 aircraft.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, help grow and mentor the next generation of engineers, and guide the candidates’ career towards the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the Technical Fellowship.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Develop and validate requirements for various complex Mission Computing and Display Subsystem (MCDS).
- Develop and validate requirements for the Mission Computing and Display Subsystem (MCDS).
- Develop architectures to integrate complex subsystems and components into higher level systems and platforms
- Perform complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
- Define and conduct critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements
- Manage appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
- Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
- Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule, and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
- Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
- Works under consultative direction.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 5 or more years’ experience with design, integration, and test of systems
- P-8 experience.
- Bachelor Degree
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 4+ years’ experience with Supplier Management or Procurement practices and processes.
- Experienced Technical Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the aviation and aerospace industry
- Experience with Mission Computing and Display Subsystem (MCDS).
- Experience with product configuration management
- Experience managing/leading engineering projects.
- Experience effectively communicating and collaborating on multi-discipline teams
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
