Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Rep job marks the beginning of a career with AFL, with the potential to advance their sales career to a Territory Sales Management position. The Inside Sales Rep will begin a career by learning AFL products and processes, then ultimately owning an Inside Sales territory. This role is measured most heavily on how they perform within the sales budget of their inside sales territory, how they manage and grow a funnel of opportunities and leads, and how successful they are at converting opportunities to orders. Within approximately 24 months, Inside Sales Rep candidates that are successful in learning and managing their territory may be provided with an opportunity to relocate and transition into a Territory Sales Management role.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Regional Sales Managers and Territory Sales Managers in a team environment to develop and execute on a Sales Plan along with pricing agreements and contracts. 
  • Handle the Outside Sales Calls to customers along with Sales and Customer Service Marketing Inboxes.
  • Respond to RFQ and market leads. Includes qualification of market leads, review of RFQ, product identification, review of existing agreements, and obtaining pricing and lead-time.
  • Analyze quotes to identify additional sales where applicable.
  • Identify and develop any new customer accounts and contracts along with managing all current customer accounts (including inactive accounts).
  • Conduct Partner Webinars and training.
  • Follow-up on any lead generating activities such as trade shows, partner events, etc.
  • Learn to be a product and subject matter expert in order to cross reference part numbers when dealing with the customers.
  • Utilize SalesForce CRM to document sales activates and tasks.
  • Work with the CSR team on items such as communication with business units, communication with shipping/scheduling, communications with sales, AFL cases, customer complaints, along with quality issues.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Emphasis in Business
  • 1-2 years of Inside Sales or Customer Service Experience preferred
  • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365
 
Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional weekend or longer hours during busy time.
  • Some minimal travel may be required
