Community Organizing Fellow, Washington Housing Alliance Action Fund (QuEST Fellow)
QuEST is a service year fellowship in Seattle, Washington, that provides recent college graduates with quality work at local nonprofits, an intentional residential community as a cohort, and opportunities for training and reflection. QuEST Fellows are matched with one of our partner agencies in full-time year-long positions. The six Fellows live together in a shared house in Seattle's University District and they receive room and board, a personal stipend, transportation and health care funds, mentorship and training, and student loan support.
The Community Organizing Fellow at Washington Housing Alliance Action Fund is one QuEST service placement for the 2021-2022 program year. The Housing Action Fund educates voters, promotes smart public policy, and supports candidates who share the vision that all Washington residents have the opportunity to live in safe, healthy, affordable homes, in thriving communities.
The Community Organizing Fellow supports all levels of the Action Fund's voter engagement program including mobilizing volunteers for Get-Out-The-Vote canvasses (field and phone) in support of housing champions, leading voter registration activities, and advancing the Housing Voter campaign. The Community Organizing Fellow will also coordinate to engage residents of low-income housing in organizing, issue education, state and local public policy advocacy, civic engagement, and leadership development.
