Gallery + Painting Assistant / Intern

We are seeking an intern to help out with gallery operations as well as serving as an assistant to painter Peter Roux. Our ideal candidate will have some painting experience as well as social media and customer service skills.

Specific tasks might include stretching canvas, applying/sanding gesso layers, running errands, updating inventory databases, hanging artwork, creating newsletter content, posting to Instagram and Facebook, assisting with advertising campaigns, facilitating sales of artwork.

There will be a mix of independent and collaborative tasks, with mentoring from both Peter (Fine Art: painting, drawing, print making, and how to expand your art business) as well as Rachel (marketing & operations). Set hours can be flexible to meet your schedule and some tasks can be completed offsite, but a commitment to at least 1 six-hour gallery shift per week is required, Sundays are preferred.

In addition to an hourly wage for this position, a commission will be earned on any gallery sales.

Start date is flexible, preference to those who can stay on through the summer.
