Medical Coordinator
Role:
The Medical Coordinator plays an integral role in the daily operations of our Health Center. As part of the Medical Team, the Medical Coordinator serves a “behind the scenes” role with the expectation that (s)he will help the Health Center run smoothly. A Medical Coordinator must be trustworthy, reliable, punctual and organized. The position requires flexibility to handle various tasks, working independently and part of a team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Checking in campers upon arrival to the Health Center (inputting their information on the Medical Team Google sheet)
- Supervising the campers in the Health Center while Doctor/Nurses are out distributing medication
- Arranging boxed breakfast, lunch and/or dinner for campers staying in Health Center during meals
- Making trips to the store to pick up medical supplies, prescriptions, food
- Interacting and building relationships with campers and staff members, both in the Health Center and around campus
- Follow standing orders of camp physician and nurses
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for campers
- Contact parents, when asked to do so, regarding the health of their children and provide updates if a camper is in the Health Center for an extended period of time (as instructed by nurses/doctors). This includes when a camper is released from the Health Center and returns to camp activity.
- Be on call at specific times of the day
- Accepts additional duties as assigned by Nurses, Doctors or Camp Directors
- Monitor 6 Points Health email account and inform necessary parties about responding
