This position is located in the Office of Enforcement, which serves the public interest by ensuring effective regulations and protecting customers through understanding markets and their regulation, timely identifying and remedying market problems, assuring compliance with Commission rules and regulations, and detecting and crafting remedies to address market manipulation and other non-compliance issues.
At time of application, applicant must submit proof of current enrollment in a degree-seeking program. If selected, applicant must provide proof of continuing education through either the Summer or Fall 2021 semesters. To meet the definition of a student, applicants must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program. 

These positions are temporary, they may be converted to a full time, career-conditional position. Any conversions to full time or career-conditional status is neither implied nor guaranteed.
Major duties of the position:
-  Analyze large volumes of data using R, Python or SAS.
-  Work independently to summarize findings.
-  Work independently to visually present data.
-  Assist in the analysis of electric and gas markets, assessing complex issues of market structure, conduct and performance.
Duties and responsibilities at the GS-5 and GS-7 levels may be of less complexity.
