Real Estate Acquisitions and Development Intern
REAL ESTATE ACQUISITIONS AND OPERATIONS INTERN OBJECTIVE: Assist Operations Manager and Business Development Manager to assist in analyzing potential new business transactions. The Intern will gain valuable experience in understanding the basics of real estate acquisitions and development while also getting experience with real estate operations.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Intern will assist operations manager and business development manager with activities relating to real estate management operations. Perform research items and weigh different business decisions. Use Microsoft Excel to model and understand potential real estate investments. Use Microsoft Word to perform write-ups to recommend investment opportunities to investment committee. Work with team members to get an overview and understanding of teamwork involved in order to achieve positive results for the company. Communicate with team members via Microsoft Teams chat, phone and email regarding prospects, expectations and duties.
LEARNING: We will have weekly "lunch and learn" events on different topics to educate interns about the real estate industry and risk/reward opportunities within real estate industry. Socratic method will be employed to further develop critical thinking skills during discussion time. Intern will also have the opportunity to shadow leasing agents as well as the operations manager to understand fieldwork.
PAID POSITION: Opportunity to transition to a paid position after training and validation of intern's ability to create value for the organization.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Must project a desirable image for the company. Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must exhibit high attention to detail. Positive attitude and interest in real estate required.
EXPERIENCE None required.
EDUCATION Must be currently seeking a BS/BA.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT Most work is performed remotely with computer/phone access.
HOURS 2-5 hours a week during school year
