460 Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter

WWAY NEWS in beautiful, coastal Wilmington, NC, has an immediate opening for a Weekend Meteorologist Anchor/Reporter. 
Primary responsibilities include producing a forecast-driven weathercast, developing new ways to showcase our WSI Max system and delivering the information on-air in a conversational and easy-to-understand style. You'll also need the ability to stay on top of developing/severe weather without always having direct supervision. Southeastern North Carolina experiences a wide range of weather, from ice and snow to hurricanes and other severe storms. A bachelor's or master's degree in meteorology, WSI Max, ENPS and Edius experience are a plus.

In addition to weather knowledge, the ideal candidate must know how to develop story ideas, shoot, edit, write, produce and go live in the field. You’ll do all of them. You must also know how to engage viewers through social media.

Resume reels should include weather and news reporting experience, including live shots. Please include links to social media accounts in your e-mail.
