Elections Specialist at the Board of Elections
This position will report directly to the Training and Compliance Manager. The Election Specialist position generally participates in the following functions:
- Recruiting, onboarding, and assigning of precinct officials
- Maintaining contact with prospective and current precinct officials
- Ensuring the accuracy of the precinct official management database and supplemental systems
- Executing financial functions to include the processing of invoices and contracts
- Answering the phone and responding to customer inquiries
- Performing data entry in the Statewide Elections Information Management System (SEIMS)
- Preparation of supplies for election events and maintaintenance of inventory lists
- Providing cross-divisional administrative support
- Maintenance of essential election records
- Other administrative duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing voter registration and elections requirements for public information
- Knowledge of and ability to operate SEIMS (elections database), Access, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to operate multi-line phone system and computer and other equipment used by the position
- Ability to respond to citizen inquiries
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s degree and two years of experience in elections, computer operation or providing customer service to the public.
