CDBG Grant Management Specialist

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a CDBG Grant Management Specialist to assist in performing management and compliance services for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and CDBG Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) disaster relief grants for its disaster recovery practice. As a CDBG Grant Management Specialist, you will be ensuring grants are administered in accordance with Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and State requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

• Working with state agencies, local municipalities, and private non-profits to provide CDBG grant services
• Reviewing applications for grant funding and project files
• Reviewing and processing payment requests while ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal and State requirements for CDBG grants
• Performing review, reconciliation and accounting procedures in accordance with established standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner
• Communicating progress of projects, problems, and resolutions to team leads and project managers
• Identifying policy or program related compliance issues
• Making recommendations for and coordinating resolutions and improvements
• Successfully managing schedules, priorities and deadlines
• Preparing appropriate documentation on progress to contribute to required program reporting
• Communicating and interacting with local officials on a daily basis
• Providing administrative and clerical support of project-related activities

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 3 or more years of experience with federally funded grant programs; CDBG experience preferred
• Knowledge of HUD and CDBG regulations
• Ability to learn, interpret and apply policy to specific circumstances
• Must be detail oriented, organized and be able to handle multiple tasks
• Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and Microsoft SharePoint
• Strong critical thinking abilities
