Event Utility Worker (weekend work with shifts 4 to 12 hours)


The primary function of this role involves providing seasonal facility aide working alongside and in support of TNCA Events Coordinators for weddings and events. This position will perform a variety of facility related wedding and event support duties such as table/chair set up and breakdown for events, assisting vendors with facility needs, parking assistance, and general janitorial duties such as emptying of trash receptacles, sweepings, mopping and replenishing paper supplies. 

Pay will be $12 per hour. This is a primarily weekend role (Friday through Sunday) and shifts can range from 4 to 12 hours from April through October. Schedules are often known weeks in advance. 

Must be able to push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

·         Communication:  Must have excellent and courteous written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both internal and external publics. Ability to screen and direct clients and visitors to the appropriate source, inform the public about services, processes, procedures and guidelines. This position will need to follow both written and oral instructions.

 

·         Customer Service: This position will require strong customer service skills including a solid knowledge of event procedures, attentiveness to customer feedback and the ability to use positive language. This role will schedule adequate staffing and setup to ensure successful event delivery while representing the Arboretum and its mission.

 

Work Management: Ability to coordinate tasks and establish priorities in response to work flow, be detail-oriented and have a high level of organization. Must be able to manage multiple projects with accuracy and exhibit stellar time management skills. This position will carry out plans and duties as assigned by the Events Coordinators. Dd�L��p
