Asheville Campus Entertainment Overview:
Asheville Campus Entertainment (ACE) is UNC Asheville’s student-led and student-funded premiere programming board. Through its four committees (UNCA Live, Community, Craftworks, Cinemas, and Promotions), ACE plans fun and meaningful events ranging from open mic nights and movie screenings to stand-up comedians and special guest speakers. ACE is always looking for new members and ideas to help reach more students and interests. Previous involvement (being a member of the organization, attending programs, etc.) with ACE is not a requirement to be on the Executive Board!

Job Summary: The Director of Communications coordinates the promotion of ACE in a myriad of ways, including but not limited to chalking about events, developing creative marketing solutions for events, developing and improving social media accounts, and more.
 
A. Director of Promotions Responsibilities
  1. Maintain an active and engaging virtual presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat that aligns with ACE's branding, including developing a social media calendar to detail how each platform will be utilized
  2. Oversee the development, implementation, and analysis of event evaluations to understand UP’s impact on the campus, what ACE is doing well, and areas where UP can improve
  3. Coordinate ACE's campus promotions, which includes but is not limited to chalking, utilizing Bulldog Broadcast and napkin holders, and coordinating tabling handouts
  4. Plan a kick-off event for the beginning of each semester to raise awareness of ACE and support recruitment/retention efforts in collaboration with the Vice President
  5. Develop creative marketing solutions for a minimum of three ACE programs each semester
  6. Develop and maintain a working relationship with the Highsmith Student Union Marketing Team
  7. Develop a photo library for all events and committees
  8. Design and prepare a promotional material order, with two to three quotes to show best cost options, for the following academic semester or year

B.  Programming Supervisor Responsibilities
  1. Maintain professionalism, be team-oriented, and uphold standards/expectations
  2. Responsible for strategically aligning programs with Highsmith Student Union goals
  3. Maintain fiscally responsible and accountable practices in utilizing the student activity fee allocation, including but not limited to utilizing best practices, understanding the wants and needs of the student population, and keeping up-to-date on popular entertainment and activities through the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA)
  4. Attend all required Highsmith trainings and meetings, including DEEP requirements
  5. Engage in regular evaluation and assessment of individual and committee work with support of supervisor
  6. Utilize UNCA Now by posting events with descriptions and NowPoints, checking in all student attendees at all meetings and events through the app, and more
  7. May be required to drive University Vehicles to conduct University Business on behalf of Highsmith Student Union
  8. Other duties as assigned
 
C. Position Requirements
  1. Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  2. Knowledge of Highsmith Student Union policies and procedures
