Assistant, Customer Service

The Customer Service Assistant is responsible for assisting GBG Business Operations Team in retrieving

and processing all material, SO and PO creation requests in a timely, accurate and efficient manner, as well as, monitoring and working closely with their respective business on data integrity. 

  • Retrieve and process material set up information from Business and ensure accurate entry into SAP. Includes all SAP form creation and submission to TSG Tracker (MRF, BOM, Costing, etc.)
  • Manage and facilitate bulk SO/PO entry into SAP.
  • Manage and facilitate manual SO entry into SAP.
  • Validate and update SO information to ensure timely processing (i.e. bulk depletion, customer SKU management, storage location corrections and adjustments, pricing V.25).
  • Work with sales & production team actively to identify any data or system issues on customer commits/orders.
  • Initiate credit release reports and work with A/R and Sales to manage credit issues.
  • Assist in set up of items in customers’ systems.
  • Work order preparation.
  • Ensure data integrity in respective systems (SAP/VAS Tracker/IBT/vendor portals, etc.).
  • Work with BA team and Allocation team to review and advise on oversold items in an effort to align orders prior to allocation.
  • Work with Sales teams/Customers on order issue resolutions (i.e. extensions, errors, inquiries, etc.).
Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Allocation experience, a plus (preferably in the Apparel/Accessories/Footwear Industry).
  • Some EDI and ERP Software experience, preferably SAP, a plus.
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to set priorities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of retail math.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to foster effective teamwork
  • Ability to learn difficult concepts quickly while offering creative solutions to problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
